Block House Gin

The blockhouse was built in the late 1860’s, purpose built to protect the early settlers during the war periods. It was one of the first blockhouses built in New Zealand and one of the few remaining buildings associated with the wars.

The blockhouse today has been preserved as a historic place, situated in Upper Hutt.
